Carter Co. Sheriff: Shooting at a fleeing suspect, considered armed and dangerous | WJHL


ELIZABETHTON, Tennessee (WJHL) – Authorities in Carter County are asking the public for help in locating an armed suspect in the area after a shooting on Saturday night.

According to a press release from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), investigators are looking for Elijah Adam Taylor, 37, after allegedly shooting two people after starting a brawl at a Dave Buck Road residence.

The statement said deputies at the scene found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds and transported her to hospital.

Investigators who arrived in the area discovered that Taylor had already fled the scene. He is now wanted on two counts of attempted murder.

According to the statement, Taylor was last seen with a handgun and is considered dangerous.

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office lists Taylor’s description as follows:

  • Height: 5’4 ″
  • Race; White
  • Male
  • Hair: Dark / Gray, Bald
  • Identification marks: neck and chest tattoos

Anyone with information regarding Taylor’s whereabouts is urged to avoid approaching Taylor and calling 911 or CCSO dispatch at 423-542-1845.
