DC’s infernal super-demon returns in Multiversal Justice League series

Grant Morrison’s unlikely Superman and Etrigan the Demon mashup from the Multiversity series makes a fiery return in Justice League Incarnate # 2.

The hellish fusion between Superman and Etrigan the Demon returns in the next one Justice League incarnate # 2, released in December.

Known as the Super-Demon, this unorthodox hero defends the dark world of Earth-13 alongside the League of Shadows, a group made up of alternate versions of several magical DC characters, including Ragman, Deadman, and Enchantress.

Justice League incarnate # 2 sees a team of heroes from a wide variety of Earths band together to defeat Darkseid as well as various multiversal threats, including a reverse version of the Batman Who Laughs genre. Along the way, they must bring Super-Demon and the other members of the League of Shadows to their side, which requires a pit stop on Earth-13.

Super-Demon hails from Multiversity: Guide, a 2015 book by Grant Morrison and a host of artists who described multiple worlds in DC’s expansive multiverse. A demon that has exploded to Earth from the planet Kamelot and fights evil threats on behalf of Merlin, Super-Demon was last seen in Multiversity # 2 fight a group of vampires from Earth-43, another dark world of the Multiverse ruled by the Blood League – a vampirism-possessed version of the Justice League. Multiversity also featured the team’s headliner Justice League incarnate, led by Val-Zod, Superman of Earth-2.

Written by Joshua Williamson and Dennis Culver with illustrations by Kyle Hotz and Andrei Bresson, Justice League incarnate # 2 goes on sale Dec. 7 from DC.
